Why is my room system turning off Speaker mode?

We are aware that some integrations will toggle off the Huddly Director feature on the Huddly L1 camera and we are working together with our partners on this.

Huddly L1 - Camera Settings Not Retained on Crestron Flex Systems

Applies to: Huddly L1 | Crestron Flex / Crestron UC systems

Issue

After connecting or power-cycling the Huddly L1 on a Crestron Flex system, camera settings including framing mode revert to Group Framing. Speaker Mode and other Huddly Connect App settings cannot be persistently applied.

Root Cause

This is a confirmed compatibility issue between Crestron Flex and the Huddly L1.

The Crestron Flex system applies a persistent camera setting at startup configured either via XiO Cloud or the Crestron app which overrides any settings applied through the Huddly Connect App each time the camera is connected or power-cycled.

"Note: This override occurs even when the Crestron Flex system is disconnected from XiO Cloud, confirming it is persistent behavior on the Crestron side."

Current Status & Resolution

There is no full resolution available at this time. This has been escalated to Crestron and is currently in their development backlog, with a fix targeted for Q3/Q4.

Recommended actions in the meantime:

  • Contact Crestron Support to log a case for this issue, additional customer reports help prioritize the fix.
  • Review your Crestron Flex camera settings in XiO Cloud or the Crestron app to confirm which framing mode is being pushed to the device. Setting this to your preferred mode at the Crestron level is currently the only available workaround.
  • Avoid relying on Huddly Connect App to manage framing mode on Crestron Flex systems until the fix is released.
